Alternative feed additives have promising importance in broiler production due to the ban on the use of certain antibiotics. The most used antibiotic alternatives in broiler production are phytogenics, organic acids, prebiotics, probiotics, enzymes, and their derivatives. Antibiotic alternatives have been reported to increase feed intake, stimulate digestion, improve feed efficiency, increase growth performance, and reduce the incidence of diseases by modulating the intestinal microbiota and immune system, inhibiting pathogens, and improving intestinal integrity. Simply, the gut microbiota is the target to raise the health benefits and growth-promoting effects of feed additives on broilers. Therefore, naturally available feed additives are promising antibiotic alternatives for broilers.

1. Introduction Poland is the biggest European Union (EU) poultry meat producer. Over 2.5 million tonnes of meat was produced in 2019, an equivalent of ~17% of the total EU production [1]. Approximately 83% of the meat comes from chicken broilers. Intensive poultry production raises concerns about gaseous emissions (mainly ammonia, NH 3 ) and its impact on workers, birds, and the environment. Additionally, odor nuisance can be a significant problem for nearby...
1. Introduction In the poultry industry, enteric bacterial pathogens pose a threat to intestinal health and can contribute to the transmission of zoonotic diseases [1,2], increased mortality in poultry flocks, reduced feed efficiency, decreased rate of body weight gain and, therefore, increase in total production costs [3,4]. Salmonella infection and necrotic enteritis (NE) produced by Clostridium perfringens (CP) are two significant bacterial diseases in poultry [5,6]. Each...
All vertebrates need creatine for their energy metabolism. Omnivores receive a part of it from their nutrition. Creatine is naturally present in meat and fish, however, only trace amounts of creatine are found in fish meal and meat meal. So, creatine is lost on the way from fresh meat to meat meals. Animals respond to this deficiency with low muscle creatine. Today´s feed has lost an essential biomolecule - it has lost creatine. Creamino technology brings back creatine to animal diets....
Dr. Koushik De, Director of Technical Services for South Central Asia at Novus International, points out how MINTREX® helps producers and nutritionists to address key production challenges including gut health, nutrition, structural integrity, and protection against oxidative stress in poultry.

Dr. Andreas Lemme, Director of Technical Consultancy, explains the challenges in poultry production today with a focus on improving sustainability, particularly finding optimum balance between the socio-ethical, environmental and economic factors. "With regards to environmental aspects, the WWF report from 2016 clearly identified the natural boundaries for coping with nitrogen and phosphorous are heavily exceeded"....
Introduction
This congress takes place in a typical corn-soya-region of the world, which means that corn and soya are the basic raw materials for all type of poultry feed. But in a lot of countries we see much more and different raw materials being used in poultry nutrition and especially in those diets for layer breeds in rearing and production. There is no doubt that especially layers perform very well with...
An immunomodulator is any substance that helps to regulate the immune system. The function and efficiency of the immune system may be influenced by various exogenous and endogenous factors resulting in either immunosuppression or immunostimulation. Several compounds with an...

Background
Antibiotic Growth Promotors (AGPs) are a group of feed additives widely used to improve animal health and performance. Mode of action is actually still an area of debate, but it is clear we have moved away from a simple model of reduction of pathogens / reduction of microbiota competition with the host animal to one where reduction of inflammation and modulation of immune response is a more likely explanation.
AGPs are effective in enhancing...
Note: Creamino® is no longer distributed through Evonik. Since July 2020, Evonik is selling its own product GuanAMINO® to the market. Please contact us directly or get in touch with your local Evonik representative for more information or purchase Conclusions The supplementation of CreAMINO ® (600 g/t) to an energy-reduced diet (–50 kcal/kg) enabled broilers to perform, at least, at the level of control group for all...

Feed challenges in South East Asia Microbiological quality of feed intended for animal consumption is a relevant factor in the livestock industry because of the effect it has on the health status and productive efficiency of the animals, but also for the potential impact it may have on public health. As it occurs worldwide, there are multiple microbiological challenges that can negatively affect the feed quality in South East Asia. Main difference present in the region...
