This ignores the bacterial commensal pool of bacteria and transmission of resistances between bacterial species such as E. coli and Salmonella. Furthermore, having worked over 10 years in California and seeing many calves die in bloody diarrhoea associated with MDR untreatable Salmonella.. I would like to point out that antimicrobial resistance due to heavy indiscriminate use is an animal welfare problem!
