Recently, I’ve had serious problems with my cattle. They seem to be unable to urinate and have severe abdominal pain. When they drink water, they suffer from abdominal distension followed by bladder rupture. The urine floods the stomach and the animal dies. We´ve tried using different antibiotics but with no results. I would appreciate it if you could give me any information regarding this disease, since I have lost about 75 calves of different weight so far, Thanks, ...

Introduction The classification of bovine lymphoproliferative neoplasms has been widely accepted to fall into one of four distinct forms based on age and site of tumor development (Angelos and Thurmond, 2009). The adult multicentric form is also known as Enzootic Bovine Leukosis (EBL). The other three are grouped under the term sporadic bovine leukosis (SBL) and include the juvenile multicentric, thymic, and cutaneous...

Productivity and longevity of dairy cows are greatly influenced by proper nutrition programs. Human-animal interaction in larger dairies is limited, and ailments detection relies heavily on employees. Metabolic disorders and their complications such as hypocalcaemia, fatty liver, ketosis, displaced abomasum, acidosis, and laminitis may result from dietary inadequacies. Early veterinary attention increases treatment effectiveness and reduces overall costs....

Typically spring brings an increase in moisture, resulting in muddy lots or simply moister environments due to rain or snow melt. Within the dairy operation this intensifies the need to focus on foot care and lameness. Lameness continues to be one of the major reasons for culling and lost milk production in dairy herds. One of the best ways to minimize lameness occurring in your herd is to be proactive by having a management plan in place. ...

INTRODUCTION Eimeriosis in cattle is an important enteric protozoan parasitosis causing economic losses and severe clinical disease in calves (daugschies et al., 1998). Unlike most other eimerian species in cattle or in rodent models, the life cycle of E. bovis includes the development of macromeronts (up to 250 µm) within an endothelial host cell (Hammond et al., 1964). This rather long lasting process...

Hello everybody, There is a dairy farm in Turkey. The avarage milk yield of the cows is about 32 lt/day. For 10-15 days, it has seen cecal dilatation and right displaced abomasum very often. As I know either cecal dilatation or displaced abomasum is related wtih particul size of TMR and low forage: concantre ratio in TMR. But the interesting thing is, none of them is wrong. I mean there is 45% of forage on the TMR and the particle size is like to be. And the...
