Let's Squawk About It is a monthly interview segment by the Poultry Science Association. The COVID-19 Pandemic has changed many aspects of life, but how about for a chicken? Roy Brister, of Tyson Foods, shares some insight on how feed formulation had to change due to a domino effect brought on by the pandemic.
I think a lot of lessons learned in response to this pandemic will find applications outside of public health crises. Labor shortages and logistics have been chronic challenges. We have had a watershed moment and new technologies that were deemed to be too far out there just got a big push toward the mainstream.

I am sure there would be some effect but I believe when you are in a situation of not knowing how long to slow down the production system, it would be better to keep hens laying and producing quality eggs/chicks so that you could start back quickly when needed.
