Deterioration of egg shell (incuding shell color) is a part of ageing process. Only sustained good health can support longevity of shell color. However, one can try to improve shell colour by:
1. Using high quality calcium (with better bioavailability: try oyestershell).
2. Keep linoleic acid level in feed little bit higher than recommended for that breed at that age.
3. Frequently supplement vitamin C in feed.
4. Seromonitor and provide strong immunity for diseases that influence shell quality (IB, ND, PNEUMOVIRUS).

Over & above valid suggestion given by Dr.Anjum, I would suggest supplementing a product containing purified nucleotide GNA through feed as a feed additive which is more effective as immunosuppressant and support to function female reproductive organs more efficiently.
We can improveegg shell colour with that is commented in this forum and also two comments:
- In free ranges layers could be interesting to reduce Vitamine D levels than cage layer because we have a positive efect from UVA radiation and with high levels of Vitamine D and UVA efects we will have more pale eggshell
- Lower level of phosphorus improve shell quality in this period
egg shell colour can only improved by good management of the layers from day 1 post hatch until end of lay by providing the good quality feed, biosecurity, and the environment in which the birds are bieng kept.
Egg shell colour is one of the genetic character of different breeds. I personally think the shell quality can be controlled with good management practices and vitamins but not the shell colour.
Inclusion of Bacillus subtilis (C-3102), a Direct Feed Microbial into the feed is known to enhance shell color of brown eggs together with good husbandry and management practice.
