EVONIK ANIMAL NUTRITION WE’RE SCIENCING THE GLOBAL FOOD CHALLENGE BECAUSE IT’S ALL ABOUT LIFE The greatest global challenge is to ensure food security. Eight billion human lives depend on it. However, it matters how we source animal protein. BECAUSE IT’S ALL ABOUT LIFE...

Nutritionists have access to various ingredients that fulfill methionine (Met) requirements of broilers. Amino acids (AA), such as DL-methionine, are nearly 100% bioavailable while methionine hydroxy analogs are shown to be relatively less bioavailable. Thus, this experiment aimed to determine the efficacy of using a 65% DL-methionine and 35% limestone dilution product (65DLM) compared to a methion ...

IntroductionThe concept of maintenance has been defined as the state of balance between the intake of nutrients and their inevitable losses (Siqueira et al., 2011; Silva et al., 2014; Soares et al., 2019). That contributes to an understanding of the differences in responses between individuals of a population and enhances the requirements concept. Different methodologies have been developed to est ...

Dear Alireza, thank you for confirming the concept by an additional data set. I like to pronounce, that validating the equivalency of DL-Met and the methionine hydroxy analogue at 65:100 replacement ratio not only results in same animal performance but also in considerable cost savings when using DL-Met provided the price ratio between mentioned products is not 65%, which means the price of the hy ...

there is nice report. We replaced in diet 65 part of DL-MET with 100 part of MHA in trial on 6000 broilers in iran. Results indicated that body weight and FCR were the same in both groups confirming 65% RBV of MHA.

Hello. Interesting concept, that feeds would require supplementation with liquid amino acids. First, may I clarify one small point. For every amino acid other than methionine, the content of liquid products can be directly compared to solid versions; so a 50% lysine liquid will supply 500 mg lysine per g consumed. For lysine hydrochloride the value is 78% / 780 mg / g. Therefore to replace 1 g lys ...

IntroductionThe branched-chain amino acids (BCAA) leucine, valine and isoleucine account for 35% of the essential amino acids in muscle protein and 40% of the total amino acid requirement in poultry [1]. Furthermore, The BCAA regulate protein synthesis and turnover in broiler chickens, facilitate glucose uptake by skeletal muscle, enhance glycogen synthesis and are important regulators of mTOR sig ...

I should like also to comment from Dr. Marchenkov regarding "vegetable methionine". As Dr. Wu correctly states, methionine is methionine; an amino acid with a clearly defined structure INDEPENDENT of the source. I have seen numerous products claiming to be "Herbal methionine" and these materials are not methionine, and do not contribute methionine. When used in correctly balanced and formulated di ...
