Hello, have you made comparative studies between herbal extracts showing repulsive effects and your fungi in terms of red mites population decrease?
Richard
Yes! We have been tested some vegetal extracts and essential oil against Dermanyssus. On last march, a dissertation about it was concluded. Soon we are publishing. But, at moment these studies are on lab level. Not in field conditions.
We have evaluated in poultry layer, fungi and diatomaceous earth
Thank you!

Congratulations for the excellent work. It meets the needs of our Continent.
The poultry industry in South America has similarities in the epidemiology of some diseases.
The role of Dermanyssus gallinae in the maintenance (chronicity) of Fowl Typhoid, in some commercial laying farms, brings with it numerous problems for the poultry farmer and also for the consumer.
On the one hand, less informed producers or technicians use antibiotics periodically to reduce losses from the disease. Due to this, Salmonella Gallinarum, in some producing regions, has a high level of resistance to several commercial antimicrobials. To further complicate the picture, these antimicrobials of systemic action in birds, leave residues in the eggs, which should be discarded during and after these treatments.
It is the same case of treatment with chemical insecticides, whose systemic action, in insects and also in birds, leaves residues in the eggs.
Therefore, the use of natural products, which do not leave residues in the eggs, as well as vaccines against Avian Typhus, meet the modern poultry industry and consumer demands.

Thanks for the information Professor. These studies meet the needs of producers, technicians and, above all, our final target, His Majesty the consumer.
The environment also thanks!!!
