Thanks Teresa M. Agulles Teixidó for sharing this article. We are frequently encountering with these respiratory issues of poultry and received very good response from the essential oil based drugs during such conditions. But in severe conditions, these types of drugs takes little longer time to show efficacy. As you rightly mentioned, we recommend such products at a regular interval (3-4 days gap or weekly twice).

Dear Dr. Biswajit, thanks for your comment! In severe conditions, we recommend starting the administration of essential oils as soon as possible, and combining the administration by drinking water with spraying in the environment at least for a couple of days. Best regards, Teresa

Dear Iftikhar, the product contains essential oils that are mostly acting on respiratory health. For growth promotion, we use other essential oils, that focus more on digestive health. Best regards, Teresa

Respiratory diseases are scary, but can essential oils help? I agree that essential oils have a lot of potential, but currently we must look for alternatives that make it possible to lower the cost of obtaining them, or a way to use the phytobiotic effectively, but that does not imply a high cost and is easy to obtain for everyone. .

Angel Roberto Sanchez Quinche Dear Angel Roberto, there are many types of essential oils, which come from different species of plants around the world. Some are very expensive and there is little availability, others are more abundant and affordable. Those used in animal feed are usually affordable, so treatment with essential oils is usually reasonably priced, although slightly more expensive than drugs such as antibiotics.

Dear Dr. Beplob, Our product is effective, and we have carried trials against competing products where the animals treated with our product showed better performance. However, in my opinion, if the management of the farm is bad, there will be no product, natural or synthetic, that will solve the underlying problems.

Good luck for your research and gains. Personally I consider the only sustainable solution is to work on genetics of the chicken and to produce more resistant breeds plus Successfull vaccines production against mycoplasma , E coli and influenza .

Hello, actually yes, they are giving very good results. Personally, I work with phytobiotics, and I am doing very well. There is a lot to investigate, there are alternatives...

Agreed with @Teresa M. Agulles Teixidò,
Some essential oils (EOs) from Eucalyptus spp., peppermint, balsam fir needle oil have naturally respiratory tropism properties as expectorant, mucus fluidisation, stimulating of the ciliary beat frequency (CBF) of nasal mucosa.
I was formulating a lot of EOs based feed additive since 2003, and I can confirm these alternative and natural solutions may help animals producers and veterinarian practitioners to decrease the use of antibiotics in first intention defence/strategy.
Moreover, the EOs based solutions may be added on current preventative respiratory strategies by mixing both drugs and these EOs with complementary as well as synergestic effects from this integrative strategy.
At your disposal for more precise data.
