Thanks to Dr. Bakri for his remarks about stress factors. In hot and humid climate, one of the fundamental stress factor is the management of house inner climate. Grown broilers produce high level of enthalpy (heat content) inside the house. One of the best system to overcome the heat stress is the tunnel ventilation design. But in our region, few farmers use such system. That's why the inability ...

Dear TomI listened to you carefully, from our experience what you said is important. I do agree, moreover broiler farm management has to be aware of all biosecurity measures to keep birds and farm save throughout the year.

We have a broiler farm using tunnel ventilation and evaporative cooling system. We operate fans and air speed according to the age and inner climate conditions. We belive that the enthalpy in the house which counts at the end of the day. The birds do not suffer from heat stress if all climate parameters under control.

I must state that this study is beneficial and a lot of effort put in it.... Generally, we do not suffer from wet litter in all house, but in case we have a problem with the water line or nipples we remove immediately the wetted litter and change by new dry litter in that small wetted area only.

From field experience in our region which is humid and hot , we planned to solve the problem of wetting and gases in brioler farms by applying the tunnel ventilation system and water nipple with cap lines. We carfully monitor the inner climate parameters according to the age and hourly out-side climate conditions. In my opinion, if the total volume of air inside the house is moved out side per one ...

Dear Dr. Bakri The AI study which you performed, was in poultry farms located in only 7 countries of Middle East! But you generalized the case and gave impression that all poultry farms are infected through out the region. Scientifically, one has to be precise. Another issue, is this study for the publicity of the vaccine (Nobilis vaccine )..or it is purely scientific investigation? My best regard ...

Dear Dr Mike Czarick Nice to see your response. We have introduced the tunnel ventilation system in our brioler farms in 2004 for the first time in Saudi Arabia. I had modified the system to get adapted to our environmental and climate conditions. The system works very well and help to have excellent birds performance. The farm results of last cycle which finished 3 days ago: FCR 1.48 mortality 2 ...

The field results of this article are good and beneficial. It is expected to have a nonconstant air speed at the level of grown broiler or floor level, because of the total body volume covering the whole floor area. This works as a movable obestical which results in varying air speed. But the good thing about the article is quantifying this phenomenon in tunnel poultry house. My question: how much ...
