What are the actual nutrient requirements of broiler birds and its optimization?
Published:September 17, 2014
Summary
Introduction Nowadays in India, live chicken prices are too volatile. Also day by day raw material prices are increasing tremendously. To overcome these issues and to survive in the market, farmers and poultry producer need to produce their chicken at low cost. We have conducted field trials by using different conventional as well as non conventional items with different nutrient levels to re...
It is a field exercise and the finding are to be focused by the author. It is not done so we will wait the conclusive statement to feel how far we can use our options on feed formulations. It is not new to know use of DGNC,DMC. Blood meal etc are options if available and cost effective etc. All options are available to nutritionist as per availability of ingredients and least cost formulations of feed for broiler.
Let me know the focus point what farmers are advised and how to limit the wastage ignoring the prescribed requirements of the genetic bird used?
Do the author say we have to modify the requirements needed or we should over look the genetic requirements? What is difference between high density and lower density diet for broilers focused here. Unless we reduce the chemical values of the feed other than the requirement how to reach the target fcr and bwt ? Yes if crumble made may lead to better but cost of crumbling is also to be considered.
However i am thankful to the author for such idea but it need to highlight his points in terms of chemical values and if low values are responding well how and why?

the diff on results are not much significant. as the flock reared on high nutrient diet is 3 time larger then low nutrient diet.there are other factor like mean liquidation age/management etc which further influence result.
more over it is found that smaller the flock size better the results are.

Broilers do well on low plain of nutrient if balancing of amino acids is correct. This type of feeds are cost effective. This type of study should be done taking into considration indivsual nutient like digestibal aminoacid levels. In both diet in preesent study amino acid levels are more than present standers.
Dear Readers,
The said study was conducted on mash feed & CV% was around 7%.
The mortality was on higher side due to heat strokes.
I wish to address the same IDEA that the farmers have to focus on ECONOMICS instead of better FCR.
Many feed manufacturers & integrators are running behind to achieve the best FCR but question is at what cost?
I know everybody knows the use & benefits of non conventional items such as GNC, Mustard Doc & blood meal but still misconceptions are there in the minds of users.
The requirements of nutrients may vary from area to area as well as breed to breed.
My motto to address the message from this study is to look after nutrition in this direction & fix your required nutrient levels in feed as per conducting such king of "JUDGEMENTAL TRIALS".
If possible to conduct the parallel trials with scientific way then its well & good.

We find author has done good calculation of feed formulation job of the available resources. Production could have been better economical by alternative available in India like Organic acids with Sustained release property, organic minerals and antioxidants.
