A very interesting and thoughtful review. For me the biggest challenge for Essential Oils and other phytogenic substances is control of the active substances. So often I encounter products claiming content of extracts, or plant materials, with no quantification of levels of active substances. I believe many products do not have adequate QA and/or QC to confirm the levels of such active substances. I would be interested in comments that can refute this.

I agree with you by using unknown real concentrations of essential oils may we suffer from side effects or certain antagonism with other additives
