While Easter Africa region experiences an increase of the population growth rate of 3%, which anually generates an increase of the demand for animal protein (eggs, milk and meat), all the Easter Africa region countries experience feed deficit; which in the case of Kenya reachs a 60% of feed deficit.
To meet the demand for both (animal protein for human and feed), the region needs to employ new strategies on the sector, since the local animal feed industry is experiencing three main concerns:
- Availability : access of raw materials.
- Cost: high price of feed.
- Quality: low quality of feed and also, feed loss.
These animal feed challenges affect the performance of the Livestock sector in the Eastern Africa region.
In the light of the above, the Association of Kenya Feed Manufacturers (AKEFEMA) and its partners in the region are organizing the first edition of the AKEFEMA Feeds Exhibition and Conference (AFEC) to facilitate livestock industry knowledge sharing: a platform for innovation, networking and business growth.
LIPTOSA will be present next week in the first edition of the AFEC, which will take place in Nairobi (Kenya). The event will be a great opportunity to meet and discuss with Kenyan feed millers about the products of the catalog of LIPTOSA that are aimed to improve the quality and profitability of feed manufacturing.
AFEC – Nairobi 2024 will be held at the Safari Park Hotel (along Thika Road) between the 17th and the 18th of July, but the exhibition will be launched/opened on the16th of July, from 03h00 p.m.
