1 INTRODUCTIONVaccination against coccidiosis in broilers has become an increasingly important part of a global prevention strategy against the disease. Not only it is an effective treatment against the clinical disease, but it also represents a clear improvement in zootechnical results when vaccines are rotated with classic anticoccidial programmes. There are several studies in HIPRA’s Area...

Thanks for an excellent article. What information do you have on use of such vaccines in countries of Middle East and Africa? Should we expect similar comparisons between vaccine and coccidiostats? Might there be strain-specific differences? Thanks MPS

Dear Martin Smith, after greetings
We can discuss in private the vaccination experience in Middle East and Africa countries
It would be an opportunity to share with you the concept of vaccination, the expectations, and the possible ways to compare with coccidiostats

Regards
Amine

How much time is required for the vaccine strains to replace the field strains of coccidia in the birds, will the composition of feed (added enzyme and probiotics) have its effect on the replacement process.

Hi All
Vaccination either hatchery spray or breeder farm at days 3-4 can be a possible way to protect. But when vaccine has shortage then what is the control strategy for Breeder.
Please let me know commercial we can able to control through proper coccidiosis schedule but what’s about Breeder at crisis period.

Congratulations to the authors for this very interesting comparison. It's important to realize, though, that comparing field results between different periods of the year (like in this case summer vs winter) is subject to potentially large error if there exists seasonality along the year. Exploring results from previous years allow to evaluate if this is an important factor to be accounted for.
