I heard repeatedly in the series " I Think" "not a lot of data" "don't really know what to measure", etc.Every time we remove indigestible minerals "rock" we see cows respond "POSITIVE" very quick in 24 hours or less. COWS DON'T LIEIT ALL STARTS WITH HEALTHY SOIL which our entire industry overlooks from coast to coast

Just like mastitis, Lameness can also be prevented. our industry has done an excellent job teaching dairymen how to make problems so they can treat the problems GOD BLESS

i agree, once you share the knowledge to farmers on how they are making mastitis, it is easy to prevent the mastitis and have a much healthier productive cow!!! GOD BLESS

why are we always looking for treatments when we we can prevent it?

Helen, I am not sure if you want somthing to treat high SCC or to simply lower SCC by prevention. We can prevent what is often treated and we can lower SCC as low as you want to go. We have large dairies milking 80 to 87 pounds a day as low as 50,000 scc going 2 to 3 months at a time with out pulling and mastitis cows.

a pressure difference at the teat end combined with milk stasis and a poor immune system that releases toxic steroids will result in poor maintanance of the corpus luteum due to the lack of progestrone and prostaglanda resulting in low preg rates pre embryonic failure, mastitis, heel warts, hyperkeratosis, excessive NEFA mobilizATION AND THE LIST GOES ON. SO YES, HIGHER MILK YIELDS WILL RESULT IN ...

we see BST work the best where we have excellent feed and ample sunlight. When we supress the immune system we do see steroid release that has a negative effet on the CL for reproduction. it is extremly important to keep the cows immune system at her peak to keep IMIs low. as long as we are harvesting milk correctly, we can eliminate oxytocin and we can minimize mastitis from post fresh and high pr ...

Boo Ali i would suggest that you look at feed effeciency, rate of passage, are you harvesting milk correctly and what is the cow telling you. I see a lot of different nutritionist feeding a lot of different rations all for the same rumen. Most nutritioniost need to feed what the agronomist prescribed 9 months earlier and their hands are tied from doing a real good job. When we harvest milk incorr ...

I would suggest to go to John Buntings dairy blog to get the facts on what the goverment is doing and the corruption that is ruining our food industry in the usa. We need to price milk based on quality so we can start to fix our health care system
