This is what I observed for a disease challenged layer flock and just mix some vit D3 and cal preparation in a trail on a single Tier and find so much difference in shell quality .weather is not normal and is not in the summer so all these points are very important to consider for a quick recovery phase and also in summer too.Thank you for highlighting the Major issue .

IntroductionInert digestibility index markers are the anchor of many feeding trials designed to analyse nutrient utilisation and amino acid digestibility along the gastrointestinal tract of animals. Marker use is widely accepted as a method less laborious than total tract retention.Additionally, it enables the determination of digestibility along intestinal sections in ruminant and non-ruminant an ...

The use of feed enzymes in monogastric nutrition has been a cornerstone of feed efficiency and environmental management for decades. However, a recent analysis suggests that the industry's long-held "scientific dogma" may be limiting the full potential of these additives. In an article on AB Vista's website titled "Enzymes through the ages: rethinking their use in animal nutrition," Mike Bedford ( ...

IntroductionOver the years, nutritionists have studied several ways to determine the ideal dietary supply of essential amino acids to optimize poultry performance. However, considering only performance objectives without taking into account economic factors may not reflect maximum profitability, since optimizing performance is not always viable (Pack et al., 2003). An economic approach to determin ...

INTRODUCTIONZinc (Zn) is an essential trace element in all living systems – from bacteria, plants and animals to humans – and plays an important role in various biological activities in animals, especially in fast-growing poultry (Liu et al., 2011). Poultry diets are commonly supplemented with Zn since many feed ingredients are marginally deficient in this trace element (Bao et al., 20 ...

Litter management is a cornerstone of sustainable poultry production, directly impacting bird health, environmental safety, and community acceptance. Among the many challenges faced by poultry producers, fly infestation and persistent odour remain the most difficult to control. These issues not only affect farm hygiene but also pose risks of disease transmission, regulatory scrutiny, and strained ...

1. IntroductionPast reviews describe recent progress and future perspectives on the use of next-generation sequencing (NGS) in veterinary medicine. Key advances in mammalian NGS-based diagnostics include the adoption of different types of sequencing platforms and the development of specific applications of NGS for the different mammalian hosts common for human and veterinary medicine. These advanc ...

Good evening Dr Leeson.I have a question regarding broilers.I see in your article that for fully feathered layers the ideal temperature is 26 degrees C.What would the ideal temperature be for fully feathered broiler grown to 32 days taking humidity into consideration? Most broiler handbooks and articles says between 21 and 23 degrees.

I. INTRODUCTIONThe digestive dynamics of starch and protein are considered pivotal to broiler performance (Liu and Selle, 2015). Moreover, it was proposed that the rates of starch digestion and glucose absorption exceed the rates of protein digestion and amino acid absorption and this asynchrony in digestive dynamics compromises the performance of broiler chickens. If so, it follows that the provi ...

@Mangalmurti PathakIf analyzing substrates every time is impractical, so relying on average feed ingredient values from specific regions is a reasonable approach. The challenge of enzyme activity analysis is another hurdle since methods vary by supplier. But i think that the protein and amino acids provided by enzymes are not the same as calories. So they contribute primarily to growth, maintenance, ...
