This grant will offer €1 M for the next three years to fund research projects tackling some of the main feed industry challenges and encouraging international labs to collaborate.

Adisseo is pursuing a policy of continuous research and innovation in its expertise fields to meet feed industry needs. For a decade, the Rhodimet® Research Grant from Adisseo focused on “Sulphur amino acids beyond their role as building blocks”. It generated lots of new ideas and research results, and fostered scientific exchanges concluded during the World Poultry Congress 2016 in Beijing, China. This Rhodimet® Research Grant supported 17 international research programs, led to more than 20 publications in scientific journals and conferences, and addressed new areas such as antioxidant roles of methionine, cellular signaling of Met and Cys, and immune roles of those amino acids.

Adisseo is now launching a new International Research Grant to address more complex issues and stimulate scientific collaborations. Our feed industry is indeed facing new and complex issues, and this new Adisseo Research Grant will address those issues with the worldwide scientific community.

The challenges that will be investigated through this grant concern: sustainability and reduction of environmental footprint, antibiotic ban and reduction of medication, new feedstuffs and rapid methods of evaluation, early feeding and early development of piglets and chicks, hot conditions and heat stress.
For the selection and review of the research project proposals, Adisseo will rely on a scientific committee made up of academic professors and feed industry representatives such as Prof Markus Rodehutscord, Institute of Animal Science, University of Hohenheim (Germany), Prof Mike Kidd, Center of Excellence for Poultry Science, University of Arkansas (USA), Prof Richard Ducatelle, Veterinary Pathology, Ghent University (Belgium), Prof Nilva Sakomura, Animal Science Department, UNESP, Sao Paulo (Brazil), Prof Yuming Guo, Animal Science and Technology, China Agricultural University, Beijing (China)

Every year, Adisseo will offer €1 M to support 2-3 Research Projects for 3 years. Pre-proposal Grant applications are open until June 30th, 2021. The pre-selected Research Projects will be announced by the end of July 2021 and the full dossier will have to be submitted by mid-September 2021 for a final selection by the Committee and the announcement of the Laureates mid-October.
