In case of Emu compared to other poultry animals, Emu oil is main product and meat is by product. All the economics and numbers should depend on the market value of Emu Oil and also Emu Meat. Emu industry can't survive with emu meat market alone.

Yes sir Mr Ranga ji, Thank you .

we have to expand within possible economics. More marketing opportunity is now demanded when many promoters have now expanded this species availing financial assistance only by looking to hatching programs and multiplications. If oil is the criteria of success then more infrastructures need to come up for production of oil and marketing of such oil. But there is no much information available on demand of oil, regular customers, and oil promoters from Emu species through farming. However i feel best way of promoting this species in India at present is to create market for farm houses in pairs which would certainly create market within bird lovers due to gradual bonding. Dear Sir, Nice article covering all aspects of emu market and its prospects in India with difference in poultry and emu. Emu meat preparations are available at some points but not in large scale because its economy. There are many people tried for processing technology and integration in Emu sector but they didn't get success because of its market demand. So that, as you mentioned, the size of Emu farming should be in the level of market availability in the area with good standard husbandry practices. As the demand of market is less, the population in Maharashtra is gradually decreasing day by day from about 50000 in the last year to less than 20000 at present. In future the bird keeping in the pairs at farm houses is best way of promoting this species in India.

Thank you Dr Godshe ji for going through the sense of the article. My point is if byproducts of Emu bird is found to be fetching market some emu farmers or promoter should come up to purchase the stock and process the products for the growth of the species. It is not seen so far in any region of India. But excellent bird need sufficient space in the farm houses which would spread all over India and can become a preferred pet bird for human beings and get market for the farmers on regular basis. Dear Mr Rath
I just went through the article, please don't ever compare it with chicken or any other species, it will send wrong signals to the industry. Frankly speaking you can not compare broilers with layers or Kadaknath, though they all are chicken species, then why compare emu with broilers, its like comparing "Ghooda's with Ghaada's".
The economics, the husbandry, nutrition, production and reproduction all are different. It will never become a pet bird for the farm houses as you have visualized
