Thank you for article.
Rumen degradation of mycotoxins is decreased in current animal production system. It depends on passage rate, type of diet which influences the rumen environment. Usually , high producing animal having high dry matter intake especially concentrate, it favours high passage rate and less degradation of toxin in rumen, . Moreover, the rumen microflora activity also reduced by acidic condition.
Moreover, ruminants are exposure to multi toxin contamination. Because it consumes both concentrate and roughages (silage is the major source).
So it is important to include the toxin binder in ruminants diets.
Thanks and Regards

Thanks for the Article. But it would be wise if the Ingredients (at least major) would have been discussed
Even though the micro-organisms in the rumen can detoxify the Mycotoxins and its metabolites, nonetheless it depends on the efficiency of rumen microbial environment.
For eg, 90% of Zearalenone(ZEN) can be converted to a-ZOL, which is 10X more toxic when compared with the parent toxin ZEN and only 10% can converted to ß-ZOL-less toxic, in the rumen.
For eg, Perhaps there will be a detoxifying mechanism for Aflaxtoxin B1 which is very toxic to liver. But only 10% of AFB1 get metabolized to Aflatoxicol which is less toxic. Major 90% will enter to the hepatic pathway and exerts the toxic effects on liver and kidneys.
Moreover, Silages are mostly affected by Fusarium sps and P.roqueforti. The only filamentous fungi detected viable even after 60 days of storage of silage is Penicillium roqueforti.
To summarize, Toxin binders are necessary and they play a crucial role in protecting the Animal's productivity.

Dr Amarnath and Dr. Thirumeignanam ,
I´d be glad if you could please give some more information about the 'Mycotoxin degradation in Ruminants and availability in milk'.
I will be looking forward to your reply
Use of toxin binder in ruminants,is always disused considering cows but buffaloes responds differently as in
hormones ,is toxin binder the same case please highlight.
