To reduce mortality focus on E.coli and on background you work for IBH and Mycotoxin to remove the source and to improve immunity.

from my personal experience from the field, the following practices can be helpful to reduce mortalities or other economic losses due the IBH, E Coli, Salmonella and Mycotoxins -

1. Drinking water hygiene and sanitation - Daily sanitation of the drinking water is a must and periodic cleaning of the pipelines (after every flock in broilers or at 20th days in the high E. coli load areas). This practice will prevent biofilm formation and reduce the loads of all the microbes, especially E.coli. E. coli is everywhere, and it is always looking for the opportunity to infect the host and cause diseases, specifically immunosuppression. And that opens the doors to the other microbes.

2. Mycotoxin analysis in FEED INGREDIENTS (especially Maize, DDGS, Oil cakes, and Brans) as well is in feed is very very crucial and necessary. irrespective of the months or sessions, Micotoxin loads can be there in the feed RM indifferent qty. And that leads to the weakening of the Metabolic organs like the Liver & Kidney, followed by Immunosuppression and an invitation to other diseases.

3. STRONG BIOSECURITY measures at the farms, hatcheries, feed mills etc. Need to prevent and control the microbes inside and outside the farms with right types of Cleaners and disinfectants. FOOT BATH, VEHICLE BATH at the entrances and regular cleaning (between the flocks) and Disinfection (pre-placements and during) are to be in practice.

4. Effective RODANT Control SOP is mandatory for the farm, feed storage areas and FEED miils. Rodants are the deadliest carrier of the Salmonella, E coli and many other microbes.

5. Prevention and Control of Insects (flies, mosquitos, bugs, mites etc.) are nowadays unavoidable. In some geographical locations in the world, insects are considered as a carrier of different diseases.

Along with the above steps, location-wise
1. treatment programs,
2. supportive medications,
3. vaccinations and
4. Effective and proper management practices
can help to prevent, control & lower the loads of the mentioned diseases.

Thanks & Regards,
Dr. Biswajit
