Factors Affecting Egg Production in Backyard Chicken Flocks

The laying cycle of a chicken flock usually covers a span of about 12 months. Egg production begins when the birds reach about 18-22 weeks of age, depending on the breed and season. Thanks a lot for detailed discussion on factors affecting egg production in backyard poultry. I will also like to add some more possible factors affecting egg production in backyard poultry e.g. 1-Breed of layer birds 2-Inbreeding in Breeder Flocks 3-Introduction of male birds in laying flock 4- Lack of Uniformity of Flock 5-Persistent noise around the Farm 6-Beak Trimming restrictions
