I experienced similar problem with my broiler stocks.I lost number of chicken from that.I quite agreed with other contributors, poor pen management might be attributed to this.I do reckon, too much salt in birds'ration might be another cause.I saw my workers mixing the feeds with high quantity of salt with no measure.Thank you for the enlightment.

I´ve read with great interest your article about Cassava Products in Diets for Broiler Chickens. It was a great work. Thousands of farmers have gone out of business in Nigeria as a result of high cost of production triggered by shortage of grains, most importantly maize. I´ve lost over two thousands birds as a result of my worker trying to cut corners in my absence. My business eventua ...

it is a good article. It is elaborative in nature.groundnut cake and palm kernel cake are two major sources of fat in poultry feeds in nigeria. The major problem facing farmers using these ingredients is the formation of aflotoxin in the course of storage.the knowledge i gained from your article is the importance of usage of one source of fat in feed formation and in right quantity

I READ WITH GREAT INTEREST YOUR ARTICLE,BUT THE BASIC PROBLEM IS THAT IT IS A VERY COMPLEX PROCEDURE TO ESTABLISH UNIVERSALLY MAXIMUM LEVEL OF MYCOTOXIN THAT ARE TOLERABLE IN ANILMAL FEEDS.IT ACTUALLY DEPENDS NOT ONLY ON THE BREED OR SPECIES OF THE ANILMAL BUT ALSO ON GEOGRAPHICAL FACTOR.FOR EXAMPLE IN AFRICA,VERGITATION THAT MIGHT BE POISONOUS TO A BREED OF CATTLE CALLED ABERDEEN ANGERS ARE GIVEN ...

This is a very beautiful article. It is full of intellectual material. However, the issue of in-ovo vaccination is a new innovation to me. I have never heard of it. It is not used in Africa. Anyway. If I know about the process, I may likely be the first to use it. My hatching factory will start operations in Nigeria, Moniya, Ibadan. We want people like Dr. Adejaro to be in contact with us. Dr. Ade ...

I read with tremendous interest this article about poultry feed. Although my base is in UK, I see the poultry practise in Nigeria sub-standard as they add raw bone into their poultry feed without processing or cooking. Anyway, I am trying to make a difference in this Africa sub-region as we are starting poultry and feedmill production in Moniya, Ibadan, Oyo-state, Nigeria. Olotefon Feeds and Poult ...

Frankly speaking, most of the articles coming from Florida are brilliant and full of useful information. I would urge the writers to continue in their research as they are helping us, people from a disadvantaged continent [Africa] to move with time. The writers are helping in no small way in boosting food production in the continent. Every bit of the useful information would be put into use in my ...
