IntroductionHost defense peptides (HDPs), also known as antimicrobial peptides, are present in virtually all species of life and constitute a critical component of the innate immunity [1,2,3,4,5]. Defensins and cathelicidins represent two major families of HDPs in vertebrates [6,7,8,9,10,11]. While defensins are categorized by the presence of six conserved cysteine residues in the C-terminal matur ...

Phytase, an enzyme works well if considered the use correctly. But the results depend on how you are calculating the matrix values. It varies on a lot of factors. So, be sure about the factors first, then go for use- normal or super.

Dear all, according to commercial trials in poultry, using SBM as a traditional protein source, optimal phytase activity for laying hens must be approx. 500 FTU/kg of feed. Dosage of phytase activity can be higher if the feed contains more appropriate substrate (phytates). If you replace SBM by SFM, phytate content becomes to be higher. The same story if you use more wheat bran or rice bran. But b ...

Dear Jodh Singh, one substrate (phytate) and if the same enzyme activity, and if the same thermostability = the same result. For instance, some phytases producent can be also yeast, too. No difference. If you want to select better enzyme, pls perform tests in your lab, and everything will be clear.

Enzymes have a better future in food and feed. Which way can we induce the nutrition values either by direct fermentation of feed or by addition of enzymes in the feed? Thank you

Hi I do hope you may be interested in fermented cereal grains fed to poultry. These processed feed materials were shown to have improved nutritive value than unprocessed counterparts. You can check some papers on my page in researchgate. We have observed significant changes in NSPase enzymes, this it is possible these feeds are good sources of activated plant enzymes and of prebiotics which were n ...

Good.article But FCR and weight gain at 42 days are far below International standard Now a days with meeting amino acid requirement One gets around 2000gm bodywt and 1.6 F.C. R at 38 days These are my personal observations Regards Dr Chandra

INTRODUCTION An important function of animal production is to provide high-quality protein for human consumption. In order to fulfill this role, animals themselves require high-quality protein in correct proportions in their diets. There are many ways to assess the quality of proteins, but nevertheless, they are all related to amino acid supply, which thus becomes a key feature in animal nutrition ...
