Dear Luis,in the last few years, we had a close look at the quality of different protein-rich feed ingredients and we developed NIR calibrations which can now be used locally to estimate the quality. The reactive Lys to Lys ratio is a good indicator for over-processing and it works in Soybean products, but also in Canola Meal and DDGS. In Canola it might be worth to check in addition the levels of ...

OverviewRenewed interest, especially in the United States, has sparked in assessing branched-chain amino acid interactions in practical diets for broilers. Indeed, as L-valine enters formulation bird nitrogen excesses are reduced as diet protein falls to the new first limiting amino acid (e.g., isoleucine, arginine, or tryptophan). For a United States based example, the result is less oilseeds and ...

Very nice work and interesting, applicable, and relevant topic. Thank you very much indeed . We recently published a paper with BCAA using new statistical approach. In case anybody interested please fins it as below: Optimizations of branched-chain amino acid requirements for 15–21-day-old broiler chickens by using the Taguchi method M.Sedghi et al. , 2022 Animal Production Science , https:// ...

George Entz One argument I could make against a very long dark period is that it would likely increase bird heat stress during warm weather. The shorter the day, the more calories the birds have to taken in during the shorter day, the greater the amount of heat the birds will produce during the shorter day (more Btu's/hr)

Hi:Aside from material be used for litter that must have enough capacity to absorb water from faeces and waterer, enteritis and feed passage will exacerbate the bacterial growth and ammonia gas in house that induces footpad dermatitis. Hence management of gut health will be effective in preventing footpad dermatitis. Therefore, not only essential oil but also other product like prebiotic can be ef ...

Very interesting technology to conduct complicated research with effect energy content of feed, physical form and pellet size and so on. Individual birds could be experimental unit and because of high number of sample, power of test is improved accordingly. Even several treatments can be evaluated in a single facility then the variation that comes from ambient environment is negligible. If I am ri ...
