Increase in milk production due to intensive cow cooling
How much milk adds intensive cooling in the summer to the annual yield of young and mature cows

Summary
Global warming and the constant increase in cow’s milk yield exacerbate the summer problem in dairy farms and increase the production loss caused to milk producers. In order to quantify these losses, I collected data from five large scale high yielding dairy farms (1,500 to 3,000 cows per herd), located in the Torreon region, north Mexico, characterized by a desert climate, with close to 18...
@Rajeshwaran , thanks for the comment. It is Holstein breed (by the way, the reason it was not mentioned is that i thought it is clear to readers that no other breeds reach such high productivity
Dear Dr. Israel, Thanks for sharing such a nice data. First of all. I'd like to know if heifers had received the cooling during rearing period (I mean throughout 3-24 months of age). The second one: I think in all of mentioned herds, the heifers are being bred at less than 55% of mature BW. Thus, the average milk yield is less than 40 kg. Once again, I appreciate this insightful paper.
