I thing the other contributors to this problem are;
1. Lack of proper skill and knowledge with the producer. 2. Shortage of both quantity and quality feed. 3. Improper management and feeding. 4. Not offering sufficient dry period before parturition. 5. Stressful environment. etc
Increase the protein and Energy level.
Ingredients in the fresh cow ration should be introduced in close up ration(About 50%).

Anti-oxidant (Vit E, Vit C , organic zinc, copper and selenium)
Add Yeast , prebiotics.
Add anion-salts.(DCA balance) + Biochlor.
Three Day Sickness best preventives is maintenance of cobalt, copper and selenium levels in dry period. If you see prevalence in your herd consecutively for more than two years, go for vaccination.

First use NUXVOMICA 3X at the hours given here 6am, 10am, 2pm, 6pm and 10pm
Second drug BRYONIA 3X at the hours given here 8 am, 12 noon, 4pm, 8pm and night 12
