Poultry maintenance against bacterial contamination is very difficult due to litter which contains multiple bacteria, fungi, etc., which are most dangerous. Many owners are not aware of all this .
Day to day operation, using injudicious drugs leads to failure of immune systems and ill health both to bird and end user. Natural farming in open fields is the need of the hour.

This explains why local or organic chicken on free range do not suffer from coccidioses despite the fact that the mucosal scrappings contain diverse stages of coccidial growth. It is a combination of genetics, graded or stair case cell mediated immunity that will make them attain hyper immunity status. This reduces susceptibility to zero. The graded or stair case immunity result from infection and reinfectionstrategies. I beleive strongly that irradiation of oocysts can attenuate coccidial oocyst and make them less virulence. I am waiting to see the full details of Coccidia vaccines borne out of biotechnology. I am also waiting to see details of using genetic superior birds against coccidioses to cross breed with patho sucsceptible birds even at F6 generation for good selection strategies.
