Chicken age and vaccination

Can anyone tell me when chickens/chooks can be vaccinated? If laying pullets is it too late? And what old for chickens? Is 10-14 wk too late? I heard that the vaccination can have negative side effects such as growth retardation? Thanks

Hello emma
It depends .
Some diseases are age related like gumboro . It hits the layers from 4 to 7 werks of age so, we need to vaccinate ir earlier .
Other like EDS ( EGG DROP SYNDROM) hits the birds during production only so it better to vaccinate it before the onset of production .
Some killed vaccines needs priming .
