Behnam Saremi and Oluyinka Olukosi will be two of the distinguished speakers at the XXV World’s Poultry Congress (WPC 2016), which will be held in Beijing during September 5-9. This congress is co-hosted by the China Branch of the World’s Poultry Science Association (WPSA-CN) and the Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine (CAAV).
Saremi, who is Manager of Animal Physiology Research at Evonik, will give two lectures "D-Methionine is as efficient as L-Methionine in broiler chickens" (Sept. 6) and "Effect of either DL-Methionine or DL-methionine hydroxy analogue on the antioxidant defense system in broilers" (Sept. 8), and five poster presentations: "Effect of varying levels of dietary methionine sources on the quality and shelf life of fresh broiler meat", "DL-Methionine outperforms its hydroxy analogue and is as efficient as L-Methionine in broiler chickens", "Metabolomics revealed equality in utilization of D-Methionine and L-Methionine and a new insight in sulfur amino acid metabolism in broiler chickens", "Understanding the Relationship of Dietary Metabolizable Energy and Ideal Protein in Modern Broilers. 1. Growth, Carcass, Metabolites, and Hormonal Profile" and "Understanding the Relationship of Dietary Metabolizable Energy and Ideal Protein in Modern Broilers. 2. A metabolomics insight".
Olukosi is the Senior Poultry Research Scientist at the Avian Science Research Centre of the SRUC, where he leads the poultry nutrition research activities. He will speak on September 8th and his lecture is entitled "Manipulation of the dietary phytic acid, myo-inositol and exogenous phytase levels influenced growth performance, digesta pH and the gene expression profile in the jejunum of broilers".
Both authors will be speaking on very interesting and Insightful topics. These topics should shed more light on broiler production to be specific and layers production also. Kindest regards to both authors. I won't be able to attend the conference this year. But I hope one can access the papers for reference and better understanding of what both authors will discuss
The Sanremu topic will be of interest to many people working with poultry. It will be good to know if the ideal protein levels depend on the levels of particular metabolizable energy or particular production or growth objective. These are the contentious issues.
