Dear Author/s Interesting work. It would have been better if concentration of probiotic bacteria, Bacillus sp. in the feed was indicated and concentration of this bacteria in the gut at a given time was also found. Regards

Application of this technology in broiler evap. cooling system can be a bonus to the industry. I am sure Dr. Michael Czarick must have considered all the important parameters such as concentrations of carbon dioxide, ammonia, oxygen and RH in addition to the temperature. If not, these parameters could also be integrated into the system.

Dr. Fiodor S. Marchenkov Dear Dr. Fiodor, Fill the pipes with 2% Citric acid (PVC pipes) and leave it over night and flush it with fresh water. When filling, allow the citric acid solution to run through the entire watering system. This gives a fair flushing of biofilm as well as the deposit of calcium and magnesium carbonate.

Agree with several of these comments so let me put some thoughts about my experience on coccidiosis. Necrotic enteritis would be for another occasion.Let´s not forget that clean houses don´t allow the chicks to develop early immune response against coccidiosis, instead, this will delay the immune response which will typically play an important role of coccidiosis control when ionophore ...

We have tried different kinds of phytochemical ingredients like saponins, tannins, alkaloids, essential oils etc to prevent coccidiosis but unfortunately, we couldn't get consistent results with these ayurvedic products, so majority producers in India are depending on ionophores or other chemical anticoccidials,In case of necrotic enteritis you have so many opportunities to control through pr ...

Hi Interesting work. What interested me most is the process of making the inactivated Bacillus subtilis fragments. What type of microorganisms that were involved in the fermentation and do you have any idea of sizes of cell wall fragments.

Christoph Hutter Hi Christop Huter Yes I have used a commercial product containing a blend of organic acids in drinking water to curb bacterial infections in broiler rearing in evap. cooling houses. The optimum pH for growth of most Bacillus species is close to neutral and therefore, addition of an organic acid like lactic acid will bring pH of drinking water to around 4 (recommended pH). It i ...

Kb Bohara Dear Dr. KB Bohara, Thank you for the comment. I am not interested in promoting CAW. I have nothing to do with this product or I have no connection with this company. What interested me in this product is the mode of action of its constituents on biological activities and that is why I included this in my field trial. The main point which I wanted to share with the community is that the ...

Steffen Hansen Dr. Steffen Hansen I did not do a dose response trial. The bacterial density of the original solution was 2.44x107 CFU per ml, 100 ml of this was used for 1000 litres of drinking water. As you mentioned, there can be a build up of slime in the pipes & nipple drinkers which can hinder the water flow as the production cycle progresses but one has to do a trial to see how long it wil ...
