Description of professional services:
I specialize in swine respiratory microbiology, using 3D cell culture models to advance diagnostics and disease control.
Professional experience:
I have over eight years of experience in veterinary microbiology, diagnostics, and research, with a focus on swine health and infectious diseases. My career began at the National University of San Marcos (UNMSM) in Peru, where I worked in the Microbiology Laboratory – Virology Section, performing diagnostic testing for livestock diseases, training veterinary students, and contributing to research on endemic and emerging pathogens. I later served as Head of the Biotechnology Area at LASSER Laboratories in Lima, leading the swine molecular diagnostics section and overseeing molecular and serological testing for pathogen detection and monitoring. I earned a Master of Science in Veterinary Preventive Medicine from Iowa State University (ISU), where I specialized in the application of advanced diagnostic and research methods for swine diseases. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Veterinary Microbiology at ISU, focusing on the use of three-dimensional (3D) cell culture models to study swine respiratory pathogens and improve understanding of host–pathogen interactions.
