Dr Bédécarrats’s main research interests are to improve the reproductive efficiency of domestic birds and to find a better balance between production parameters, health, welfare and the environment. More specifically, his work focuses on determining the molecular mechanisms controlling reproduction in commercial avian species. This includes the study of neuroendocrine pathways involved in the activation and inhibition of the hypothalamo-pituitary-gonadal axis, and the effect of environmental stimuli on reproduction.
