He was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Ohio State University, and an assistant professor at the Ohio State/Agricultural Technical Institute before he joined the faculty at Clemson University, where he became a Professor in the Department of Animal and Veterinary Sciences. He has been recognized nationally and internationally for his teaching and research in animal nutrition with an emphasis on lipid digestion and metabolism in ruminants, primarily dairy cattle.
