Horacio Raúl Terzolo, thanks for your questionA trial to demonstrate not excretion of the vaccine strain and protection of Primun Salmonella E against field strains during laying period in commercial laying hens has been submitted and approved to be presented in the Mediterranean Poultry Summit (WPSA Congress). The congress will be held in June in Cordoba (Spain) and the paper will be avail ...

Hi, My advice is to vaccinate with different types of live vaccine strains during the pullet period and to grow them with inactivated vaccines such as IB Multi before laying. There are also cross-protection studies against the QX variant of various combinations of vaccine strains. Kind regards.

Hi to all: To control of QX Bronchitis pathogenesis in breeder to prevent left oviduct cyst, need to note the following factors. 1- Good cleaning and disinfection of poultry house before chick arrival.2- to buy day old chicks by good maternal immunity against QX strain.3- Good vaccination program including protectotype strategy. As all know QX strain pathogenesis occur in first weeks of life (2-3) ...

Muhammad Kashif The live vaccines colonise the birds for life - you only need one vaccination. You should also vaccinate for MG and MS. MS can mimic anything MG can do. ts-11 and MSH can be used from 3 weeks of age. Immunity may take 5 weeks to develop and you need to not use antibiotics after vaccination.

Dr/ Mohamed Hassan Salem Live vaccine is important as is biosecurity. Killed vaccines are not important. Killed vaccines have been shown to decrease trachael populations, decrease vertical transmission and some other systemic effects. They make a lot of humoral antibody and this can be turned into maternal antibody but humoral antibody has little effect on trachael populations and maternal an ...

I agree with comments made by Michel Bublot Mixing any recombinantHVT vector vaccine with a conventional HVT vaccine will interfere with the protection of the insert like in your case with the AI/H5 protection As mentioned will not effect the MD protection To improve protection of the recombinant for MD you can if manufacture recommend to combine the recombinant HVT vector vaccine with SB1 or Ris ...

It is the HVT in the first HVT+SB1 vaccine that will interfere on the avian influenza H5 protection induced by the rHVT-H5 in the boost. The Marek's disease protection should be similar as if birds had received two times HVT+SB1 since rHVT-H5 is an HVT. So, Marek's protection should be the same but H5 protection will not be at the expected level.

It is very sad and disappointing to see that today, in the middle of the third millennium, in the midst of a pandemic that has already cost 2.5 million lives (Feb. 2021), the use of antibiotics "X" or "Y" is still being discussed, without any restrictions. The antimicrobials used to prevent diseases generate multiresistant microorganisms (MRO), which are "democratically" and vertically distributed ...

Dear Kristina, I agree with you. We found this when I was in Budapest with Miklos. The definition of a field strain by being negative in a test is a real problem. Most strain specific PCRs are less sensitive than pan Species PCRs so it is easy to get a Pan positive/strain negative result on direct swabs. Miklos group have published MG vaccine PCRs (MAMAs) and we have a CAST PCR here. One of ...

Wijaya Saputra Serology is useless after live vaccination (and probably killed MG vaccination). There are too many normal responses and perhaps these are modulated by factors other than mycoplasma - like using LaSota. http://www.bioproperties.com.au/!Pages/Publications/Documents/DOC-Bulletin-2015-02.pdf See the bulletin. But in Australia nearly all broiler breeders have no serological response ...
