Breeding cattle shortage

I do not think so. If yiou check FAO price chart, animalinouts and milk prioces are both increasing. The high milk production is one reson of excessive culling of uneconomical dairy stock. The shortge of green fodder due to long dry season in Australia is another factor that is causing heavt animnal culling to fit in the available feed resources.

I even do not think so like Syed Hasan Raza. The change I am seeing is that standard of selection and keeping of breeding stock will be higher and culling of sub standard heifer will go higher. The breeders as well as farmers will have to do this for their survival

The first line statement is not clear. The normal culling rate 25% is seldome followed any any farm at present. It is only praciced in milk colonies where animals yielding less than 8 L are kicked off from farm due to high impurt cost and the same prodcution level is highly acceptable in all over the Ounjab where cost is less. Even commercial farms are not following btrue culling procedures. It is very complicated phenomena and varies fron situation to situation and unexplainable/incomprehensible for non-professionals.
