An important review of the work to date.It reinforces the need for a full profile of breeding values including female fertility & sub-cutaneous fat if selection for profit is to be undertaken. The challenge of course is how to get estimates for individual animals. Hopefully genomics will be the answer but probably only for the Angus breed in the short term.
