Presently, in Maharashtra state, main constraints at milk production level are
1. Low milk Price of Cow milk i.e.Rs.18/lit (fat 3.5%& 8.5%
2. Getting reliable and hard working skillful workers leading to manage-mental &inadequate nutrition related problems like mastitis, low fertility status, etc.
You have to really take care of the cow before the cow takes care of you.
Care meaning - comfortable accommodation, decent roughage, balanced feeds. Physical measure to mitigate heat stress on transition and on lactating cow. Then please recognize the cow itself is the biggest heat generating machine. Then ultimately us to be able to minimize physiological heat stress.
Hello. I would suggest giving some more information of how could we feed our dairy cattle practically, healthy and economically for optimum milk production in terms of quantity and quality. This means that we have to know which food we should use qualitatively and quantitatively for optimum production? Which methodology do we have to follow in order to keep our cow in good health and our milk in quality? Hence some information about disease control strategy and using pre and probiotic appropriately need to be dealt with. Some ways to transfer theoretical aspects of feeding dairy cattle into the farm and practical terms are also needed.Thank you .Dr.Khazel (MSc,Diploma ,Ph.D).
Today the main problem is the availability of desired feed and forage at a bearable cost. Adding any supplement, prebiotic and probiotic will surely benefit if basic requirements of feed ingredients are present in the feed.
Main tussle with dairy farming is - Farmer says: I will definitely feed appropriately once I get the production. Animal says - You feed me first appropriately then only yield the desired production.
