Stocking density plays a major role keeping birds on deep litter to keep them comfortable & to develop 5-8 behavioral changes (comparing normal vs compromised space) whether it is broiler or broiler breeders in the house.

I think in open house 1 sq feet per bird in environment control house .85 sq feet per bird. Actual space depends on target body wt. Regards

l think the stocking density has to vary with regard to the body weight, age and weather changes. Cheers.

There is no such thing "as one size fits all" as far as stocking density in broilers in deep litter is concerned. It varies from one climatic zone to another. It also varies according to the age, weight and sex of the bird.

We kept broiler day old chicks from 35 to 47 days .weight at market from 1900 grams to 2700 grams.temperature varying from 45 c to 8c outside control houses.the best results were gained at stocking density of .80 to .85 sq ft.in hot cold or moderate weather
