Thankyou Zehava, Good article about Embryo physiology during last incubation period and in egg nutrition. It will be nice if more & more work is done in this direction. In past two decades we have successfully reduced the rearing time of the commercial chicken in order to reach markatable weight, most of it due to the genetic development. Now is the time we should look for more work on the nutritional aspect. Breeder nutrtion and successful transfer of the nutrients to embryo will play a vital role in future.

Completely agree with you! Current research in my lab shows that embryos do not have mineral resources in their yolk from E 17 (see Yair and Uni 2011 in Poultry Sci).
