Endolysins are an interesting technology for controlling pathogens of economic importance in animal production. They target specific bacteria with a direct mode of action (cutting the peptidoglycane membrane)…just like AB does, but without being an antibiotic.
Today we have an endolysin that targets Clostridium Perfringens and we have seen notable performance improvements in both, clinical outbreaks and sub clinical infections.
We are working in expanding to other pathogens as well….so, for sure, Endolysins will be a useful tool for animal production.
