Where has the year gone?!? As trite as it feels to write that, my head is spinning with how fast the year has gone for our Association. Through the first seven months of 2025, we’ve seen tremendous growth, with increased membership, increased attendance at our Annual Meeting, the acquisition of a third journal, and growth in our staff.
…and there’s more to come, with the launch of our inaugural PSA Pacific Rim Scientific Conference and hosting our second annual professional development event, the PSA Pathways Summit!
Congratulations to the newly-elected members of our Board of Directors, especially our President Doug Korver of Alpine Poultry Nutrition. Dr. Korver, a Fellow of the Society and past Program Chair of our Annual Meeting, is a visionary leader in our community and, more importantly, is a friend to everyone in the Association.
Thank you to PSA Past President Martin Zuidhof for his leadership over the past year, and for the many ways he continues to serve our organization, including chairing our Journal Planning Committee.
Our Annual Meeting in Raleigh was an unqualified success. More than 1,200 members and guests joined us for four days of fellowship and scientific discourse. We accepted more than 600 abstracts, including 128 posters in an innovative ePoster format, and heard more than 70 talks across 12 symposia. Thank you to all the presenters who worked to make this year’s event a huge success, and extra thanks to Program Chair Laura Ellestad for her leadership over the past year. As any past chair can tell you, the Program Chair is the unsung hero of PSA each year!
Now we look forward to a huge fourth quarter of 2025 with two major events on the horizon. We look forward to seeing you in Macau for PSA Pacific Rim, or perhaps in Minneapolis for the Pathways Summit. Both are great opportunities to engage with fellow scientists and grow your influence in our professional community.
Thank you for the privilege of helping you advance poultry science worldwide.
