Water Supply in Poultry

Dear Bibek Ji ! You should use acidifier in your feed as a routine feed formula as you are aware that poultry GI system is acidic by nature & maintaining natural values are utmost important. Since poultry diets have high alkaline characteristics and alter pH of GI tract of normal bird; Ideally acidic pH is must for better nutrient absorption & disease free GIT. Similarly contamination of drinking water in poultry is formidable. Water source get contaminated with various organic and inorganic substances resulting in high pH thus chances of growing pathogens including salmonella sp., E. coli and fungi is high. Generally it is recommended that optimum pH of drinking water of poultry should be around 4 to 4.4 and B value of feed should be low to maintain normal gastric pH of birds.

Never make stock solutions of acidifiers and vitamins in the same container before pouring into main tank .
