Kemin Shares Technical Knowledge with Layer Farmers of Hyderabad

Kemin Industries South Asia Pvt. Ltd organized a technical seminar for sharing knowledge of healthy nutritional practices for profitable layer farming with farmers in Hyderabad, on 25 March, 2011.

With its mission to be a humble advisor supporting farmers through their challenges and issues for growth and better profitability, the seminar focused on providing solutions to the key issue faced by layer farmers - i.e. egg breakages, as well as on feed milling technology to produce quality feed.

Dr. V.Velan, Vice President, gave a brief description about Kemin's presence wordwide as well as in India. He emphasized that Kemin plays a positive role in the growth of the layer Industry as an 'advisor the customer can  count on'. He stated that the objective of this seminar is to exchange knowledge and learning among each other for the benefit of the poultry Industry.

Dr Sumeet Bagga, product manager, elaborated on the issues resulting in egg breakages and consequent economic losses. He presented effective solutions to minimize egg breakages and boost profitability in farming. Dr Sumeet detailed how good management practices, nutritional modifications, and usage of quality feed supplements are effective in minimizing the egg breakage issue.  He gave brief description about KemTrace Layer - an Essential Metal Propionates and ButiPEARL - A Fuel  for Intestinal Villi growth. Dr. Sumeet showed the results of various trial reports proving the fact that the supplementation of KemTrace Layer + ButiPEARL minimized the egg breakage in older birds significantly.

Mr Kanagaraj, manager for Liquid Applications emphasized the basic steps of feed milling with critical focus points. He presented the critical points in feed milling which not only save the cost of feed but also ensure quality feed to birds. Practical tips with examples given by Kanagaraj were well received by the involved layer farmers. Kanagaraj, an engineer himself, briefed in detail about the MillSMART Technology - Kemin's solution for improving feed mill efficiency and producing quality feed.

The event, attended, by prominent layer farmers in the region, has come at a time when farmers are scouting for solutions to minimize losses and avoid wastages in farms.
