As part of its global strategy for further expansion and as part of their own production network, Hubbard has established its own (G)GP operation in Brazil and its own subsidiary called “Hubbard do Brasil”. Paulo Pires, General Director of Hubbard do Brasil, says: “I am very pleased with this latest development as it really shows the long term commitment of Hubbard to the Brazilian industry and the faith we have in the further increase of our market share in the second largest market of the world. Since the introduction of the Hubbard Flex about 3 years ago it has shown very good breeder and broiler results in many parts of the world, and we will now be able to extend this to Brazil as well. We now really offer the industry a choice. This new operation also gives us the opportunity to increase the selection pressure under local circumstances. This news operation is complimentary to the already existing supply of conventional and colour Hubbard PS into Brazil.” The brand new (G)GP farm is located in the centre of Brazil in the province of Goias. The 300 ha of farmland is well isolated from other poultry operations as the distance to the nearest poultry farm is at least 80 km. The facilities are brand new and are already registered within the National Poultry Health Scheme. Ben Hur Marcom, the newly hired Live Production Manager, has very good practical experience. He has worked for Agroceres and Alimenta Avicola. The technical support of Hubbard’s customers in Brazil is assured through Michel Riviere who has moved back to Brazil again. Michel already has a longstanding experience and in-depth knowledge of the Brazilian market and customers. In the near future the technical team will further expand. Olivier Behaghel, who lived and worked in Brazil for about 7 years and now is the Business Director for Southern Europe, Middle East & Brazil, confirms: “This decision is not only reassuring our Brazilian customers, it also gives all our international customers the security of supply of Hubbard GP and PS. Brazil will be an essential part or Hubbard’s worldwide distribution network, supporting our strategy for growth all around the world in the coming years. This is a very exciting moment for all of us, as we have worked very hard to achieve this.”
