Dietary sodium diformate shows effects against Salmonella in broiler in-vitro and in-vivo*
Published:January 29, 2014
Summary
Introduction Salmonella ranks among the world’s biggest threats to health. In the United States alone, it is responsible for around 580 deaths and an estimated 15,000 hospitalisations each year (WHO, 2005) - and these are just the reported cases. Dear Mr. Christian,
It's very good article in testing NDF.
This is, ultimately, to get rid off our skepticism of NDF for birds.
Even so, 0.2% and 0.4% dose have to be self-tested.

Peyi
Dear Mr. Peyi,
thank you for your comments!
NDF has been used successfully in poultry for the last 6 years - there is no need to be sceptic on the impact of the additive. Several articles, published internationally confirmed the effectivity - among them a meta-analysis on the impact of NDF in broiler on weight gain and feed conversion. Regarding the topic of the article... the 0.6% dosage was for scientiefic interest only, whereas the 0.3% dosage has been successfully used in practice; and it is therefore our recommendation if problems with Salmonella occurr. 0.2% will certainly have a beneficial impact on the bird - however it may not be enough to fully fight Salmonella if the problem is known prior to the use of the additive.
