Dr. Martin, congratulations on the excellent article. As I am in a tropical country, Brazil, I think I lacked information about the limitations of increasing the level of fiber in pig diets during the hot season of the year. In this sense, we have to consider two main factors. the increase in the caloric increment (CI) of the animals' rations and digestive tract. With regard to this last factor, t ...

A plant extract contains a lot of different compounds that act synergistic with each other. To garantee the stability of each batch you have to standardize the extraction procedure and you have to standardize the concentration using a standard compound present in the extract.Pure molecules have the disadvantage that you isolate them from the natural surroundings. Dear colleague,
It might be of interest to repeat the experiments partly and also include differences in pH of the urine. E.g what will be the ammonia emission at pH levels of the urine of 7.0 6.5 6.0 5.5 and 5.0?
To reduce the ammonia concentration compounds might be added that inactivate the production of urease by bacteria.
Best regards,
Dr. Cor J.M. Arts

Sensitivity is given for only one product. It is not given which product.
The recovery of spiked Aflatoxine M1 from cheese is too low.
It is advised to look for another and more effective extraction method.

If 20 ppb of Aflatoxin is present in the feed for cows and 2,5% of the Aflatoxin from the feed is found back in the milk, than you can expect 0,5 ppb in the milk. This is a rather high level and a factor 10 to high a compared to European guidelines. Best regards. Arts Project Support

Dear Sir, We have 12-hours bovine colostrum. This is a freeze-dried radiated product and still contains all active components as the original colostrum. The colostrum is suitable for calves and pigs. Besides, it works well for animals with intestine problems. Best regards, Cor Arts
