He received his Ph.D. in 2012
from The University of Georgia. His doctoral dissertation focused on developing
molecular biological tools for producing transgenic chickens, including avian
stem cell characterization. Following his Ph.D., he served as an Assistant Research
Scientist at the Poultry Diagnostic and Research Center researching the
avian Coronavirus infectious bronchitis virus (IBV). Currently, he is an Assistant
Professor in the Departments of Population Health and Poultry Science at The University of
Georgia, focusing on poultry health and production
