with the high cost of corn, soybean meal and yellow grease, we can use alternative sources of energy and protein, for example, broken rice, sorghum, wheat, pasta meal , bakery meal, whole soybean meal, poultry by-products , meat and bone meal, DDGS. These ingredients can help reduce costs without affecting the performance of our animals, in small amounts can be used cassava and sweet potato meal , also the wheat bran and rice.
The alternative ingredients like rice, canola meal, wheat bran, etc are being used in poultry feed industry of Pakistan since last 4 decades very successfully. We have a unique model developed according to our own requirements. Our broiler starter diets are low density (Kcal 2750) and low protein (maximum 19[percent]) and our commercial poultry is highly profitable. We are using more than 40 ingredients to formulate a diet depending upon availability, cost, season, etc.
I think that nutritionists from all over the world could follow Pakistan model to manufacture poultry feed without any fear. We could help them if they want.
Algeria is a major producer of barley, poultry feed manufacturers have substituted some corn imported with barley.
Replacement rates corn are 25[percent] in laying hens and 35[percent] in the broiler diets. We used an enzyme complex containing several enzymes. Performance of production (laying rate [percent], egg quality, body weight, feed intake, feed conversion….) were unchanged compared with birds receiving 100[percent] corn

The constant rise in prices of corn, soybean meal and yellow grease main sources of energy and protein in animal diets require nutritionists to search for alternative ingredients many of these are high in fiber damaging weight gain feed conversion.
Joaquin, my name is Carlos Fajardo and I developed a free software for those who are beginning in the formulation process, is a program that let you calculate the least cost ration, is programed in Excel and is an excelent alternative for calculate the use of alternative feeds, allows the user to put limits minimun and maximun.
easy to learn, fast and accurate
try it!!!
I hope It can help you
