Methane fixation by plant/ fungi/ microorganism?

Published: June 7, 2014

CO2 can be removed from the atmosphere, when it is absorbed by plants as part of the biological carbon cycle. Is any plant can fix methane from atmosphere? It’s felt silly but still if this happen then what will be the results? I read about Methylomirabilis oxyfera can grows in a layer of methane and it is assumed to use NO to generate internal oxygen to oxidize methane via the ‘conventional’ aerobic pathway including the monooxygenase reaction. can we use this microbe to reduce methane production from ruminants?
