Genetic selection for high producing cows puts more pressure on animals defence and immune system and it causes poor reproduction performance and shorter longevity and durability. We should evaluate our herd for profitability and longevity. because high turnover rates have negative effect on farm profits

As you know the higher milk production, the more cows get stressed and this cause less immune response to the diseases and animal have very delicate balance between diseases and health. If you look at last fifteen years of milk production and number of calves per cow in the world you can see a negative correlation between them. productive life of per cow has also decreased for last two decades. I mean genetic selection for productive, strong physical features and longevity must be combined. not just for production
