In Memory of Dr. Bernard Wentworth

The Poultry Science Association Office has recently learned that Bernard “Bernie” Wentworth passed away last Thursday, October 20, 2022. Bernie served the Association as President from 1992-1993. He was also an Associate Editor for Poultry Science^® and was inducted as a PSA Fellow in 1996 for his contributions to the Association.

Serving an extensive career in poultry, Dr. Wentworth was the Chair of the Poultry Science Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison starting in 1985 until it merged to the Department of Meat and Animal Sciences in 1996. Even after the merge, he served as the Associate Chair of the new department until 2004.
